School groups return year after year to Bassenfell Manor Christian Centre, having fantastic residential experiences. We still have a few midweek’s available for more school group residentials in 2017 and beyond. With 69 bed spaces, 3 acres of ground and set in one of the most beautiful areas of Britain, the Lake District, Bassenfell Manor is an ideal activity centre for a school group residential.
We offer activities in the grounds of Bassenfell (onsite) and out on the local fells and lakes (offsite). Also you have the option of self catering or Bassenfell catering.
Bespoke programmes are created to include your catering requirements, outdoor activities and educational visits. Every group is presented with a Christian 'thought for the day' which shares our faith in our amazing God in a interactive fun way relevant to the activities to be undertaken that day.
Bassenfell Manor Christian Centre is registered with The Adventure Activities Licensing Service as licensed to provide specified activities under the following headings: Climbing; Trekking; Watersports. Licence details can be confirmed by calling The Licensing Service. Tel: 029 2075 5715
Bassenfell provides residentials for school groups of various sizes, from 8 to 48 children. There is a special offer of 1 free leader place to every 8 children for schools who book an activity package (minimum booking: 30 children).
Bespoke mid week packages
£17 per person per night - Do your own activities and catering and pay just £14.16 plus VAT (2017) per person per night (minimum booking: 20 people).
Bassenfell catering - Cereal and toast breakfast (possible cooked breakfast if required), packed lunch, two course evening meal: hearty food all freshly prepared on-site by Bassenfell staff. £15 plus VAT (2017) per person per day.
Adventure activities in the grounds - such as abseiling, archery and tree climbing are supervised by fully qualified instructors (ratio 1 to 10 max). The on-site adventure trail and play equipment are free to use unsupervised.
Off site activities - include kayaking, mountain biking, rock climbing, raft building, open canoeing, gorge scrambling and mountain walking (instructed ratio 1 to 8). Sessions are orientated to each groups' learning requirements. Bassenfell Manor is approved by AALS to deliver activities (see details above).
Within 30 minutes of Bassenfell - places of interest are: Honister Slate Mines, 'Rheged' Centre, Lake District Wildlife Park, museums, historical house, forests and the towns of Keswick and Cockermouth with swimming pools and shops.
