Sea Kayak Cumbria 5 - 9 June 2017 (Mon - Fri) £310 view images
This is suitable for kayakers wanting to explore the Cumbria coast - either confident lake / river kayakers wanting to try paddling on the sea, or experienced sea kayakers. We meet on Monday lunch time and have an afternoon on Bassenthwaite Lake getting familiar with boats and skills, then we settle in at Bassenfell Manor, our base for the week. Each evening there is some theory input, a three course evening meal and a gathering (along with guests doing other activities) with a guest speaker and Christian message.
You will be coached / guided by qualified sea kayak coaches Andy and/or Mike who will ensure safe appropriate trips are undertaken depending on the tides, weather and group aspirations. 2017 will be our seventh year of running Sea Kayak Cumbria, and previous years have included trips around St Bees head, from Maryport to Silloth going several miles off shore, and a return trip to Annan in Scotland. Typical paddling time on the water is between 3 and 5 hours each day.
Sea Kayak Scottish Isles is another holiday that has been enjoyed for the previous five years, from Ardmaddy, near Oban. The 2017 holiday (30 September - 6 October) is fully booked. If you would like to receive details for future years, please contact us.

"Excellent instruction and varied expeditions complete with a relaxed atmosphere and opportunity to do serious paddling every day. Very good value for money." Joanna. Thanks so much for a really brilliant 5 days. It was a super group in a fantastic place with great leaders and wonderful sea kayaking! We both learnt a lot, and look forward to improving further!” Ant and Sarah “Well organised, splitting the group sometimes gave everyone the opportunity to stretch themselves a bit more if they wanted to.” Esther “Great wisdom was delivered in a very friendly and low key manner. The leaders had a very pro-active approach, ensuring that everyone was within their comfort zone, with safety a prime consideration.” Steve “It had everything I was looking for: time to relax, think, blow the cobwebs away (may be that was the wind) and have a laugh with great company. Being able to get on the water for four consecutive days was just what I needed so thank you for all the effort to get us out despite the weather conditions."
