Activities in the Lake District

Adventurous outdoor activities are provided by Bassenfell Manor Christian Centre in the Lake District. Groups make their own way to the venue and are instructed by fully qualified staff, using Bassenfell equipment. The minimum group size is 4 and the maximum group size per instructor is 8. 

Rock Climbing – on limestone at a great local venue: half day £21 pp full day £33 pp

Kayaking – on Bassenthwaite Lake or Derwent water or Thirlmere: half day £21 pp full day £33 pp

Open Canoeing – on Bassenthwaite Lake or Derwent water or Thirlmere: half day £21 pp full day £33 pp

Gorge Scrambling – down Stoneycroft Gill in Newlands valley or up Hause Gill in Borrowdale: half day £21 pp full day £33 pp

Raft Building – on Bassenthwaite Lake or Derwent Water: have fun building your craft, then racing against the other team: half day £21 pp full day £33 pp

Mountain Biking - from Bassenfell there are several excellent rides involving quiet roads and off road tracks and paths. Alternatively Whinlatter forest has excellent trails: half day £28 pp full day £40pp

Mountain Walking - go somewhere you’ve not been before, being led by a qualified experienced guide. After finding your requirements and taking the weather forecast into consideration, you will be guided on an interesting fell walk chosen to give you the best day: half day £11 pp full day £21 pp

Everyone doing activities is required to complete an 'Outdoor Activities Medical and Consent' form. Parents/guardians are required to sign it for participants under 18 years of age, giving consent for their Son/Daughter undertaking activities as outlined on the 'Details of Activities' form.
